Kakuhou Surgeon basics

The Kakuhou Surgeon sits near the train tracks in mid-city — look for the abandoned garage aesthetic with trash bags at the entrance. A green safe zone surrounds the vendor; stand inside while browsing purchases so open-world gankers cannot interrupt transactions.

From the Surgeon GUI you can:

• Buy a new named Kagune line with Yen
• Swap between owned kagune (RC resets on swap — see below)
• View stage requirements for your equipped line

RC farming for stages

RC (Rinkaku Cells) unlocks stages through the bottom GUI Stages tab. Each stage demands a rising RC threshold plus sometimes level gates. RC comes from:

• NPC kills — Aogiri-heavy zones for Ghoul accounts
• Player devours — higher risk, higher reward in PvP districts
• Boss clears — Fighter, Touka, Nishiki, Gyakusatsu scale with level
• Promo codes — milestone strings from Codes Hub

Aogiri Triangle remains the classic patience farm: three adjacent spawns, manual corpse collection, repeat the circuit. Missing corpse pickups forfeits most payout — a common reason players think RC farming is “broken.”

CCG Triangle (hunting investigators) prints Yen more than RC; switch loops when you need Surgeon money instead of stage RC.

Swapping kagune resets RC

The most expensive mistake new Ghouls make: buying a side-grade kagune before finishing stages on their current line.

When you swap kagune at the Kakuhou Surgeon, your RC drops to zero. Stages tied to the old weapon do not transfer. Focus stats persist — only RC resets.

Implications:

• Finish stage investment on Kaneki before experimenting with Noro
• Code-injected RC should fund combat upgrades on your main, not impulse shop browsing
• Alt accounts are common for testing lines without nuking a maxed main

Plan Focus on Ghoul Build before you swap — you keep Kagune Focus but lose RC progress on the old weapon.

Stage evolution mechanics

Stages unlock sequentially through the Stages UI. Higher stages typically grant:

• New skill slots or upgraded animations
• Extended range or defensive tools
• Visual kagune form changes
• Occasionally mode swaps (melee versus ranged on Ukaku lines)

RC thresholds rise with each stage — endgame Kaneki mains may invest millions of RC across six forms. Budget RC per stage before spending Yen on cosmetics or masks at Masks.

Level gates sometimes block stage purchases until your account hits minimum levels. If a stage button greys out, return to Leveling routes instead of assuming a bug.
